On Monday, our faculty, students and families celebrated and thanked our Founders community veterans, brave citizens who served and played a part in the defense of our nation. It is because of them and many other brave citizens that we enjoy the freedom and liberty that are the cornerstones of citizenship in our country.
We were honored to host two distinguished guests at the ceremony:
Lt Col Kopecky, of the United States Space Force, and her daughter gave a intriguing look into the important role the Space Force serves to protect our nation and its assets, as well as giving a glimpse into what it is like to be in a military family and how joining the military can serve a noble cause.
World War II veteran, Mr. William Joe Indiveri served in four branches of the military during his 30 years in the Armed Forces. His career took him all around the world during times of war and in peacetime. During WWII, at the age of 16, he served under General MacArthur during the reclamation of Guam and the liberation of the Philippines.
He and fellow veteran, JR Munoz, accepted a special wreath made by our Floral Design students to be presented, on behalf of the school, to Heroes Night Out of Cedar Park, a local resource and social center for veterans, as a gesture of thanks for their service.
We are sincerely grateful to our special guests for their participation and, most importantly, their service to our nation.
